Natural Resource Management Specialist & GIS expert

He has 13 years professional experience and also works as Natural Resource management specialist and GIS expert with a bias in mapping. Mr. David Nkuutu is a Registered and Certified Environmental Practitioner and Environmental Auditor with the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) Uganda in the area of Environmental Impact Assessment and Ecology, Plant Taxonomy, Environmental economics, GIS, and Land Use Mapping & Planning.

He has also been subcontracted by BIMCO to carry out Environmental Audits on the Iganga, Kakira, Magamaga, Bombo and Mukono power substations

Godfrey Obura

Civil Engineer

Godfrey Obura is a highly experienced Ugandan Civil Engineer with over 9 years post graduate experience gained over a wide range of civil engineering projects. He has considerable knowledge of the principles & practices of civil engineering, construction practices & techniques, effective project management principles & practices.

He has the abilities to: communicate effectively both orally & in writing; establish effective working relationships with stakeholders; carry out project appraisals; manage budgets & other project resources; manage change; compile, check & approve reports; review & approve project drawings; use a range of design computer packages for designing projects & undertaking complex & repetitive calculations; scheduling material & equipment purchases & delivery; attending meetings & displays to discuss projects; adopting all relevant requirements around issues such as building permits, environmental regulations, sanitary design, good manufacturing practices & safety on all work assignments; ensure that a project runs smoothly & that the structure is completed on time & within budget; correcting any project deficiencies that affect production, quality and safety requirements prior to final evaluation & project reviews.

Odeke Joseph

Hydrogeologist

Odeke Joseph has over 20 years of experience in geophysical, hydrogeological investigations and contracts management. Mr. Odeke provides technical assistance to district water office staff in surface water and groundwater management, contracts management, GIS data handling, construction of valley tanks, shallow well technologies, water resources mapping and documentation, capacity building of private contractors for water and sanitation, tendering and procurement, improving compliance with national water and sanitation guidelines.

He has been involved in country level geological and hydrogeological data evaluation. He is a Geo-physical expert having used a variety of such techniques in Groundwater assessments and rock evaluation in his career. His experience has been acquired both locally and internationally under different hydrological and hydrogeological environments

Kimule Sulait

Senior Economist

He holds an M.A in Economic Policy and Planning and B.sc in Economics both from Makerere University. He has a professional working experience of about two decades in which he served in different positions. Sulait has worked with the Parliament of Uganda in different capacities, from 2002-2006 as a Senior Economist and as Principal Economist from 2006 to date.

He also worked as a Business Administrator with Makerere University Consultancy Bureau for four years and as a Part time lecturer in both Department of History in Makerere University and Department of Economics- Faculty of Arts Kyambogo University for over seven years.

He has conducted the following training consultancy courses for the Uganda Institutional Capacity Building Project- A World Bank financed project under the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development. Monicah Amoding

Gender and Advocacy Specialist

Monicah holds Bachelors degree in Social Sciences with a bias in Social Administration and Economics from Makerere University. Monicah is self motivated human rights and gender activist consistently working to make a contribution to the women’s movement for gender equality in Uganda.

Over time she has developed knowledge and skills in women and gender issues for Gender analytical, writing skills, Policy Analysis and monitoring, Lobbying and advocacy skills Fundraising ability, Leadership and communication skills, Good negotiation and interpersonal skills

She has also undergone certificate training in areas of Leadership from Uongozi Institute of Leadership, Dar-es-Salaam University Certificate in Computer Training, Department of Gender Studies Makerere University and Certificate in Fundraising awarded by Resource Alliance-UK

Lubaale Bbale Timothy

Socio-Economic Consultant

Presently working as a Socio-Economic Consultant with Geo-Taxon Consult Limited, Mr. Lubaale is MA Candidate of Population and Development (Makerere University) and holds a first degree in Development Studies of Makerere University. In addition, Mr. Lubaale has undergone other trainings that include Training of Trainers at Uganda Management Institute (UMI) as well as Gender and Project Planning Management and Evaluation at Makerere University (MUK).

He has immense experience in preparing for and conducting surveys including baseline and feasibility studies, monitoring and evaluation, impact assessment studies and market surveys.

Mr. Lubaale has worked on a number of consultancy assignments with variety of companies and organizations including Centre for Evangelism (Baseline survey in their respective catchments areas of Iganga, Kamuli and Kaliro for the expanded HIV/AIDS project), Eco Partner Limited (Socio-Economic Consultant on the Kabale and Mbarara Municipal Waste Composting projects respectively), Ministry of Water Lands and Environment (Monitoring Assistant officer where he teamed up with the Ministry’s Economist to Monitor Poverty Alleviation Funds (PAF) in local government departments (Lands, environment, water and sanitation) in the districts of Kayunga, Mpigi, Mukono and Wakiso.

Sebuwufu Deogratius

IT Expert

He is a rising communications professional with significant experience and computer literate in multiple operating systems, programming languages, and software applications with cutting-edge knowledge of technological changes and their business implications

Deo holds Msc degree in Statistics (Biostatistics) of Makerere University Institute of Applied Economics and a Bsc. (Statistics/Mathematics/Psychology). He also holds several other qualifications in computer applications, networking and maintenance from the Business and Computer Institute (BCI) of London.

Deo has attained considerable experience from working as a systems administrator, IT personnel, IT / Telephone Engineer and ISP Engineer in reputable Organizations and Institutions including Uganda Marty‟s University Nkozi, Action For Children (AFC) in Kamwokya, Wilken Telecommunications Ltd in Kampala and Dehezi International (U) Ltd respectively.

He is therefore qualified and competent to conduct any tasks related to his experience in Information Technology and Statistics.

Lazarus Mukasa

Statistician

He is 27 years old and a Quantitative Economics graduate with extensive experience in quantitative as well as qualitative research. Lazarus worked with Economic Policy Research Centre as Principal Researcher and as a Statistician/Data Analyst for Investment and Credit Advisory Services.

He works with Geo-Taxon Consult as a Statistician, proficient in a wide range of computer-based Statistical Packages for entering, cleaning, and analyzing data. Examples of such software include to SPSS, STATA, EVIEWS, EPIINFO and other Microsoft Office applications.

Kasingye Africano

Project Planning and Management Consultant

Mr. Africano is an Associate Consultant with Geo-Taxon Consult he has over six years experience in facilitating Organizational Development/Institutional Development processes. His career has been in NGO sector supporting NGOs efforts to contribute to poverty reduction in Uganda. He worked with Save the Children in Uganda/Denmark for over four years. The work has exposed him to understanding and applying participatory methodologies to development.

He has contributed to the development of a number of NGOs and CBOs in Uganda through capacity building and institutional development to enable them contribute to addressing the needs of their target groups. He has developed skills and competencies in the following areas. Research and documentation, particularly conducting baselines, operational/action` research and impact assessments. Child rights programming and integrating child rights in program design. Strategic Programming, programme development, implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation, reporting and dissemination and replication of outputs from pilots Advocacy and lobbying at both local level and national levels including networking, collaboration, building partnerships and coalitions targeted at influencing policies

Raymond Katebaka

Head of Biodiversity, Conservation & Development at Pro-Biodiversity Conservationists of Uganda (PROBICOU).

The roles and responsibility include conduct research focusing largely on environmental conservation issues associated with ecological changes, industrial development safety standards and its impacts in Uganda and the world as a whole. Holds BSc (Hons), Zoology-Botany, 2003 (Makerere University), Postgraduate Training of Trainers, 2007 (University of Aarhus), Training of Trainers Wetlands and Poverty Reduction Anglophone Regional Practitioners by Wetlands International, Training of Trainers of African Curriculum Development for African schools of project Wet Water Education for Teachers by USAID. Research Interests/Responsibilities: Main research interest relates to the ways in which habitat change, particularly within land use systems, impact on the numbers, distribution, demography and behaviour of biological diversity.
